The Wood Memorial Stakes is another prep racing event for the 2020 Kentucky Derby. It takes place every year in Aqueduct Racetrack, Queens, New York. It is also attended by three-year-old horse racers where each of them competes for a purse prize of $1 million.

Arkansas Derby

The Arkansas Derby takes place every year in the legendary racing field of Oaklawn Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas. The winner for this horse racing event will automatically earn an entry in the Kentucky Derby.

Blue Grass Stakes

The last prep races that make a horse racer earn an automatic ticket in the Kentucky Derby are Bluegrass Stakes. It takes place annually in the Keeneland Race Course, Lexington, Kentucky. Only three-year-old thoroughbreds are qualified to grace the said event.
