Softball, a team sport popular around the world and especially in the United States is derived from baseball. This popular field game has marked its entry into the Olympics and gained recognition in many parts of the world.

Born on September 3, 1980, this talented softball player started playing softball at the age of five and began pitching since the age of eight. Receiving an early training from her father, she mastered the skills of softball and represented her college in softball tournaments. She has always been inspiring young talent in this sport.

In the Summer Olympics of 2004, her team (USA) won a gold. She is regarded as the most famous softball player of all time.

Born on September 8, 1977, Crystl Bustos is a Mexican American softball player who holds the world record for home runs during an Olympic series. She was a part of the 2008 Olympics team (USA). She has won two World Cup Championships and is the winner of three Pan American golds. She was honored with the 2008 USA Softball Player of the Year title.

Born on February 22, 1971, Lisa Fernandez was a good student at school with a natural flair for baseball. At the early age of eight, she began to play in the children's league and after moving to California, joined her school's softball team.

In 1994, she led her team in the Women's College World Series Championship after which she was selected in the US Women's Olympic Softball Team. She has won gold medals in the Pan American Games as well as the Olympics. Currently, Lisa is the assistant coach for women's softball team at UCLA.

Born on April 16, 1983, Cat Osterman was a brilliant softball player since school. She represented her school in softball and made it proud by setting several records in softball as a part of her school team. Her educative years in the University of Texas witnessed her outstanding performances in several softball tournaments.

She was the first softball player to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated. She was a part of the USA Women's softball team that won a gold at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She is also the proud winner of the silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

She has pitched 20 NCAA career no-hitters and 7 career NCAA Division I perfect games. She continues to be one of the most recognized players of international baseball.

Born on June 21, 1967, she is a two-time gold medalist for the Olympic softball team. She has played in the Japanese Professional Softball League from 1993 to 2008. She is an Ambassador of Softball and a Softball Analyst for ESPN. In 2006, she was inducted to the ASA Softball Hall of Fame.

Born on April 11, 1987, she lettered in softball when in Brookswood Secondary School and took her team to three league championships. During her freshman and senior years, she was named as the Most Valuable Player. She began her career with the Pac-10 2006 Second Team.

In 2010-11, Chamberlain was a part of the Junior Women's National Team and she played for Team USA in 2013.

Born on September 12, 1986, she is a right-handed softball pitcher from California. She started playing for Arizona Wildcats. In the 2007 Women's College World Series, she was named to the All-Tournament team and given the award for the Most Outstanding Player.

The same year, she also won two ESPY awards for Best Female Athlete and Best Female College Athlete. During her professional career, she played for National Pro Fastpitch and Washington Glory.

Born on December 16, 1985, she is a right-handed softball pitcher from Virginia. A student of James River High School and Virginia Tech, she played for the Virginia Tech softball team between 2005 and 2008. From 2013, she was the Virginia Tech's softball pitching coach.

She was signed for a $10 million multi-year deal by the Akron Racers. She was named to the 2008 All-NPF Team.
